­­­­­­­Mr. Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah joined the Financial Institutions Division (FID) as the Secretary on August 28, 2021. Prior to that, he was an Additional Secretary in the Finance Division. 

Mr. Salim Ullah is a Member of the 10th batch of the BCS (Administration) Cadre. He joined Lalmonirhat DC Office as an Assistant Commissioner in 1991. Later, he worked as AC (Land), UNO and a First-Class Magistrate in the Power Division Court in various places of Bangladesh. Besides, he worked in the Finance Division in a variety of capacities. His major responsibilities were: Budget, Treasury and Debt Management (TDM), MTBF, Macro-Financial Policy Issues, Key Performance Indicators of ministries and departments, and project implementation.

He earned his B.Com. (Hons.) and M.Com. in Finance from the University of Dhaka. In addition, he obtained an M.Sc. in Macroeconomic Policy at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan. He took further trainings at the Harvard Kennedy School, USA, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, Bank Nagara, Malaysia to mention a few.

As the Secretary of FID, he is the Directors of Bangladesh Bank Governing Board, Micro-Credit Regulatory Authority (MRA), and The Security Printing Corporation (Bangladesh) Ltd. He is the Deputy-Chairman of UBICO (The UAE-Bangladesh Investment Company Limited). 

Mr. Salim Ullah was born in a prestigious muslim family in Feni, a district of Bangladesh. In his personal life, he is a proud father of two daughters.
